WCG General Meeting - Chicago

In case you haven't seen or heard the news, our next meeting, and every meeting on odd number months will be held at First Ascent Climbing Gym in the Avondale Neighborhood at 3516 N Spaulding, Chicago. Meeting time will the standard 7:30. There are some details to be aware of, so please read below. The big change is it will be a Tuesday night. So this meeting will on January 12th.

Entrance for the meeting is free of course, and First Ascent is not charging the grotto for using their meeting room. However, their insurance company requires everyone entering the facility to sign a waiver. You only have to fill it out once, and then then check in every-time you arrive. I will going over their early to setup a rope practice. I will have two ropes up, they will be indoors, and the drop is 60'. So it's the real deal folks. Also, it's a rock climbing gym! Entrance is $18 for an all day pass. If the grotto folks use the facility a lot, I can start to work on a discount for us. I expect to be there by 3:30 and can stay after the meeting. I will be available for instruction, coaching, gear tuning or heckling.

There is no food or drink there. It's BYOB and BYOF. If you bring beer, please plan on taking your empties with you and drinking from a cup or other container. Absolutely no one who imbibes will be allowed on rope. We will need to clean up after ourselves and put the room back the way we found it.…0 New
