MUSICNOW: FOLK SONGS

The lyrical and haunting vision of CSO Composer-in-Residence Anna Clyne comes to life in this concert informed by folk music and song. Her setting of a poem by Emily Dickinson is complemented by a virtuosic electro-acoustic work of Argentinian Martin Matalon and a re-imagination of old-time string band music by Mason Bates.

Pre- and postconcert entertainment provided by [illmeasures]

Free Pizza and Beer after the concert as well as a chance to mingle with the performers and composers.

Got there a little late missed most of Bates, but
    The Viola? That was unbelievable

Bates is shippable :) yes the violist was brilliant! And Clyne is always endearing: ancient and new at once. But that conductor with the fake cane...I just had to close my eyes and listen

All too brief but a nice sampling platter. Bates should write new stuff not serve up old dishes. Clyne is one to watch! And the violist was fantastically explosive

For those coming: it is open seating so we can sit together. I suggest we meet by the coat check on the lowest floor by 715ish and go inside around 720. If you come later than that you can find us after at the reception and can text me at[masked] 4612. Thanks and see you there.
