Everything you ever wanted to know about Content Strategy but were afraid to ask

IXDA Chicago (the local chapter of the Interaction Design Association) is having an event and welcomes us to attend. This would be especially useful for those interested in becoming a content strategist. Although the intended audience is interaction designers, it should be a great conversation!

To attend, please respond on the IXDA website: http://www.ixdachicago.org/events/content-strategy-ixd

There is no official degree you can get to become a content strategy expert -- it's all about learning on the job and learning from others. However, there is a "body of knowledge" out there that can be studied in preparation.

Just like the birds and bees, there are lots of books written about the subject too. And just like with content strategy, planning is crucial to any execution. We will discuss some of the recent writings about content strategy to apply its principles to your work as an interaction designer.

Join Ethan Machado, a content strategist at Digitas, for an entertaining and enlightening discussion about a topic that's very popular but has minimal agreement on the right way to do it.

No questions are too sacred.

It would be great if we could get notes, PowerPoint, etc. for those of us who couldn't attend.

As I said on the IXDA Chicago site, it looks like a migraine is going to come between me and this talk tonight. I just opened up my slot. I hope someone else can step in.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
