Ember 1.0 release and building reusable UIs with Ember.Component

The September Chicago Ember.js meetup will be a special one. Ember 1.0 is out so we'll be celebrating the release with a meetup.

Trek and Erik will talk about the 1.0 release and Steve Kane will be giving a talk on building reusable UIs with Ember.Component.

Doors open at 6:30pm. Talks will begin around 7pm.

Thanks to Lightbank for hosting us!

Quick followup! Thanks everyone for coming it was a great turnout and I hope it was worth your time. I have posted the (slightly cleaned up) slideshow here http://w10b.com/ and the video should be online in the next week. When it is, I will tweet it out and post it here. If you are interested in following me on twitter for code snippets, spam, and links to interesting javascript stuff you can find me @stv_kn. Mantra is also active on twitter @MeetMantra.

Thanks again to both Mantra and Lightbank for the generous hosting. Thanks also to Aric Jackson for the video.

Looking forward to seeing some of you at the hacker hours and future meetups (times will be posted next week).

    Steve

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are excited to host the meetup and are even more excited about Ember.js reaching 1.0. I will have slides available after the discussions and we will also be recording the event (high fidelity recording thanks to Aric Jackson of meetmantra.com) and will be hosting the videos on youtube. I will put a message in the meetup notes when that video is available. If you have not RSVPed, please do so as we will be adding your names to a check-in list at the 600 West Chicago front desk. If you find yourselves downstairs w/o having RSVPed don't worry, we have that covered too. You'll just make 27 kittens cry.

Hi! Is it appropriate for business owners to recruit web developers at these meet ups?
