Get ready to understand a web app organized as a series of states.

Come join us as Ember.js core contributor and web application guru Trek Glowacki talks us through understanding desktop, mobile, and web applications as a series of finite states. Specifically how Ember.js uses this methodology to structure robust web applications for the browser.

Also join us for some drinks, side discussions on different implementations of JavaScript frameworks into existing applications and when to switch to a full stack framework.

Fear not everything will be recorded and synced up to a pretty slick 80's sound track.

I cant make it tonight. It'd be awesome if this meetup could be recorded tonight though.

Please make note of the location if you have not, it has been updated to better accompany the group.

The silver lining is I don't just sit idle. Every time we postpone I end up spending another 20 hours refining the talk and updating it for the latest Ember prerelease. So you're only getting a better and better talk as time goes on!

@ryan thanks for pointing out the date change -- I either totally missed that or it was still in flux when I updated the page.

    November 1, 2012

  • Ryan Y.

@rentzsch the date had to be changed to Nov 15th, the 1st was in error there was no location

@Lee I personally apologize for any scheduling conflicts I may have caused you. Please note that no aspect of the scheduling was from Trek, the location, timing was me. He has been nice enough to provide his wisdom to all of us with Ember. Again I apologize for all the confusion.

Ah, just saw that Ryan booked 1871 for tonight. Great! See you guys there.

We do indeed frequently host meetups, but I'm short on time today and don't think I can get it put together at this late a date. If this falls through tonight, I'll see if Ryan will let me just take the group over and I can make it happen at the office here.

Trek: I see you work at/for Groupon. They often host developer meetups, perhaps they have a meeting location for tonight?

    November 1, 2012

  • Trek G.

Alas, I don't know. I'm only an "organizer" because I'm giving the talk.

Uhhhh. Where!? Just cancel it already if you still don't have a location, I don't want to have another void in my plans like last time.
