Go See "The World's End" On Opening Night

Chicago Film Lovers,

Update! We are changing locations because "The World's End" is not playing at the Landmark. Sorry everyone. There is a 7 PM show at AMC River East. I have a feeling it's going to be sold out pretty quick, so try to get your tix online: https://www.fandango.com/transaction/ticketing/express/ticketboxoffice.aspx?row_count=0&tid=AAQOW&from=Redirect.aspx&mid=159769&refreshdate=08%2F23%2F2013&wssaffid=12377_MoviefoneWeb&wssac=215&s_tnt=60485:1:0

Apologize for the last minute change in location, thank you Gari for pointing this out to me. Hope to see you all at AMC River East for the 7 PM show. I'm going to get there at 6:15 PM, meet me where you get the tickets and we'll head up to the theatre at 6:30 PM. Just want to make sure we get a good seat :).

Your proud to be organizer,

Rebecca

This is going to sound negative, so I'd like to preface this by expressing that I DID love this movie. However, I did not find it all that funny, in the vain of 'laugh out loud.' There were two moments that I audibly laughed, and apart from those I just had a fun time and found it clever. However, I believe Shaun had the same effect on me the first time as well; maybe it simply requires a second viewing. The fight scenes were brilliant! I hope everyone else enjoyed it.

Wow - what a spectacular movie, and a great group to see it with! Perfect location in the theater followed up with an excursion to Timmy O'Tooles, where we expanded on the theme to this heartwarming movie: Alcohol - the cause of, and solution to, all the Earth's problems.

(Speaking of which, here's a look into Ireland's distant past, thanks to the Family Guy):

The hell with "da Bears", get me the Two Headed Dog instead any day!

Are you sure this is playing at Landmark?

Definitely get advance tickets sooner than later. It's only showing up so far on 5 screens (one of which is in Skokie), so it only needs something like 1,000 fans of the movie in the Chicago area wanting to see it on a Friday night at 7PM for it to sell out.

I am opting to see it at the City North @ 4:20pm with some friends.

Will try to be there, but may have a conflict. Consider me a maybe.

    I am totally there!

Of all the topics that get the dual movie treatment (earthquakes, volcanos, magicians), I wouldn't have expected "apocalyptic bromance" to be one of them.

August is going to be a busy month for me, and I will not make it to most of the meetups. However, I will make a strong effort to attend this one.
