Go see "Drinking Buddies" at 1:50 PM @ The Landmark & Drink Brews after

Hello Chicago Film Lovers,

"Drinking Buddies" is coming out at the Landmark on 8/23. Since we are going to see "The World's End" on the same night, I had an idea. "Drinking Buddies" is set at a brewery in Chicago, filmed at the Revolution Brewey in Logan Square.

Rainy day plan will be put in to effect. It's only going to be isolated T-Storms today, but this seems like a smoother plan based upon the unpredictability of the weather. Plus it might be humid today, not good walking around weather. We don't want to be dehydrated. So I'll see all of you at the Landmark by 1:45 PM to see "Drinking Buddies". Directly after we'll get some brews.

An excellent movie choice - there was a lot to talk about afterwards at Sheffields: about buddiness (some had very similar experiences to those in the movie), drinking (several MeetUpers had 1st-hand brewery knowledge - thanks for the beer advice, guys!), and how Lady Gaga < hipsters < Bjork . We brought up a bunch of interesting movies:

    "Wings of Honneamise"
"Russian Ark" (the whole film is one 96-minute unbroken shot!):
"In One Breath" (the making of "Russian Ark" now on YouTube):
    'Darker Than Black"
    Two Selena Gomez movies
    "(500) Days of Summer"
    "The Conjuring"

    And even some great music:
Beth Orton 9/8 @ Old Town School
Iron & Wine 9/27 @ The Chicago Theater
The music of The Tallest Man On Earth:

But we were all in agreement that the movie would have been much better with Ben Affleck in the lead role.

Rebecca organized wonderfully as always, taking weather into consideration and ensuring that the group was kept aware of any changes that were made. Great group of folks again.

Check your emails tomorrow morning regardless:
So, if it's going to be rainy tomorrow (the weather report said it might be), I have a back up rainy day plan. We will go to the 1:50 PM show of "Drinking Buddies" at the Landmark and then go to Dry Hop on Broadway & Briar directly after. Stay tuned!

That sounds awesome, but I'm going to be out of town. Have fun everyone!

Not that I advocate turning the group into a band of dipsomaniacal cinephiles, who stammer around the city regularly, but doesn't this same proposal work for when we see The World's End?

You're right. Since its a Friday, we should hit up the pubs after the movie :)
