Excellent talk on martial arts films - their styles, history, and Jackie Chan's career (which includes a romance with "Gorgeous" in 1999!) The talk closed out Argo with talk ranging from Oculus Rift, "Samsara", selfies, "Leviathan", and "Knights of Badassdom"!

Some of the amazing movies talked about included:

    Tsui Hark's films: "Dragon Inn","Blade" (the 1995 non-vampire one)
The trio of Chan, Sammo Hung, and Yuen Biao: "Dragons Forever", "Wheels on Meals"
    "36 Chambers of Shaolin"
    "One-Armed Swordsman"
"Enter the Fat Dragon" (Sammo recreates his favorite Bruce Lee scenes!)
    "Ong Bak"
    "The Fatal Flying Guillotine"

Finally, sometime during the discussion "Russian Ark" came up! It's the best single shot ever, but this scene from Tony Jaa's "The Protector" might come close:

The climactic scene from "Project A" owes it's inspiration from the "clock scene" of "Safety Last", a famous Harold Lloyd silent movie from 1923!

Damn. How do you know all this?! Who says art is not about copying?

Actually, it was via reading interviews with Jackie Chan that I was first introduced to great silent film comedians like Lloyd and Buster Keaton!

I know "Kung Fu Hustle" could qualify as a possibility, but could "Shaolin Soccer"??
