Talk about "No Country for Old Men" at Argo Tea

Hello Chicago Film Lovers!

What an amazing meet-up last night! Our film discussion of "Annie Hall" was a great turn out. "Annie Hall" is a gem and I'm glad we could all discuss why.

This October, Chicago Film Lover Exchange will be a year old! Just a year ago we discussed Polanski's "Chinatown" while we ate Chinese food. Since then, each meet-up has been very successful. The success is because of the quality of attending film lovers. I wanted to thank you all for being a part of this group! And thank you to the regulars that are dedicated to coming every month. You know who you are :).

Moving on . . . our upcoming film we will be discussing is the Coen Brother's Oscar winner "No Country For Old Men" (2007). Halloween is in October, and I didn't want to pick your typical horror movie, but this one is thrilling. Starring Javier Bardem, Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin. So please join me, not the last Wednesday (because it lands on Halloween) of the month, but on October 24th at 7:30 PM to talk about "No Country For Old Men" at Argo Tea in Lakeview.

See you next month!

Rebecca

A great varied talk about this remarkable movie from uber-fans and non-fans alike, including some fascinating comparisons to "Halloween" and "Silence of the Lambs". I'll be looking at "No Country" and other Coen films in some new ways after this Meetup!

This time we had some Chicago film lovers who were very passionate about "No Country for Old Men"! I realized that there were a lot of details I missed in this film and now I'm eager to rewatch the Coen brothers movie. There was also a lot of insight from one of our experts who wasn't as fond of the movie as we all were. This added another dimension to the discussion. Very enriching!

Will do my best to make it; filming late in the day and may not clock out.

Thanks for letting me know. You should come if you can, we usually are there for awhile. If not, hope to see you in November :)
