A director looking for a director of photography? This event is open to anyone who is interested in making independent media: editors, actors, art directors, composers, make-up artists... Bring your resume and business cards, and we’ll handle the rest. Special guest speakers and community businesses will also be featured.
It's totally free for Chicago Filmmaker members, $5 for non-members. To inquire about membership, call [masked]. We're bringing the drinks back and we'll be full of cool people talking film... don't miss it!
It was awesome meeting/catching up with those whom I did, and bummed that there wasn't time to meet everyone.
As of two years ago I began www.deanberdusis.com
Out of necessity, I shot, edited, directed and concepted all on my own.
I would love to meet someone else who can shoot NON-CORPORATE looking fluff and deliver really compelling, emotional imagery. Also looking for an editor who has a great sense of timing and story telling. I'm looking to meet you all for a short fictional narrative that we can cut our teeth on in the work of short-form fiction.
I love the look of full-frame dslrs (CANON based) and have invested in that workflow as, what I see, the future of digital storytelling.
So, I'd love to collaborate on a short film: It has to be something personal, visceral, and immediate. Something that involves creative risk and technique. I'm open to anything and working with anyone that's got a clear vision of what they want.
Hope to meet you all soon - cheers

It was very nice to meet you all at the Chicago Filmmakers meeting on Tuesday 3/19.
This is a follow up note to those I was able to chat with at the meeting. As I mentioned then, I am looking for someone with a project in mind who needs volunteer help. I have done a lot of videography (for Woodridge Cable TV) but it was all event shooting (no creative scripts). So if you need some free help and I can get more experience, My main skills, that might be of use to you, are:
1. Cameraman - I have a Nikon D800 (38 mega pixel) that I use for hi-def video. A couple of TV programs (i.e. House) use this camera to produce their show.
2. Editing - I have the hardware and software to do video editing
3. Audio - I have the hardware and software to do audio editing.
So if you have a project and would like to meet, over coffee, and plan or brainstorm and you might be able to take advantage of these skills then contact me at:

Only one week left to attend the 2nd SHOrT in Chicago Film Fiesta. This great new event is held at a wonderful venue (including free parking!) that will help filmmakers throughout the Chicago area. Five short films will be shown, including "Only Thunder," that I directed. The ticket price is $10, which includes all fees. Net profits are split among the filmmakers. There are too many short films made in the Chicago area that don't get seen by a wide enough audience. Here's your chance to be entertained and help support local filmmakers. Please attend this great new short film event. Thanks!
