Be a Christmas party animal, with the animals at the zoo!

This is one of the most popular Christmas events on One Brick's calendar. Volunteer spots are very limited.

It's the annual holiday lights festival at Lincoln Park Zoo! One Brick volunteers will be making arts and crafts with the kids and adult visitors in the Monkey House! There will be a lot of interaction with the public, and you get to play with the monkeys behind the glass windows! We will make Christmas ornaments, reindeer headbands, animal puppets, xmas tattoos, etc.) Volunteers will also have time to take breaks to go outside to enjoy the animated zoo lights and get some hot chocolate or cider.

Free parking validation for volunteers.

Please RSVP at this link if you plan to join us so we can get an accurate count on who is coming. If you want to bring a guest, have them register individually on the event page. http://chicago.onebrick.org/event/?eventid=14138

In keeping with One Brick tradition, after the event, volunteers will be going out to a restaurant near by to eat and drink and get to know each other. This is optional but a very fun way to meet great people with similar interest in supporting our community and learn about other amazing volunteer opportunities. It will be a fun way to spend a holiday evening, while helping children and cute animals.

One Brick Chicago chapter is 100% volunteer operated, with very little overhead and no pay staff. We don't even have a physical office.
One Brick is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization (Federal ID:[masked]) that brings volunteers together to support other local non-profits by adopting an innovative twist to the volunteer experience: we create a friendly and social atmosphere around volunteering, and after each volunteer event -- which typically lasts only 3 to 4 hours -- we invite volunteers to gather at a local restaurant or café where they can get to know one another in a relaxed social setting. You can sign up or find many volunteer opportunities at http://www.onebrick.org

It is not if you follow the directions on the second paragraph on the event description. Click link and register with yout email address and select a password. Done. I can only add you manually now if you send me the email address you used to create an account on One Brick.

same question -- do I need to RSVP on One Brick, or just here? I didn't see the comments below until now, and the site now says it's full.

    December 7, 2013

    • Wilson

Hi Jeffrey, you SHOULD have RSVP on the One Brick web site, as instructed on the event description. But since One Brick's sign up limit is now full, I will have to add the rest of you who RSVP on here manually. Please go register an account with www.onebrick.org if you haven't already and email me your email address used for the registration and I can input you in the system. [masked]

I really want to do this, but there's no way I can stay up until 3am my time (I'm in Florida right now) tonight, as I have a concert tomorrow early afternoon...how quickly do the spots fill?

If you cannot make the Dec 21st date, we do have another scheduled event for Zoo Lights on their final day, Sunday Jan 5th. You can sign up here when registration is open.

The One Brick server is hosted in the West coast, so at midnight PST, or 2 AM Chicago time, you can wake up to register, LOL, but I will insure you get a spot the next day, so you can enjoy your sleep Richard.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
