Help at Black Tie Affair

Next month, Marillac St. Vincent Family Services will host our annual Fleur de Lis Ball next month. This is the biggest event for our organization, raising funds for our programs and services. In order to make the event a success, we rely on the support of volunteers to help before and during the event itself.

I have included relevant dates and more information about the event and how you can get involved. The proceeds fund our programs and services to help the children, teens, seniors, and families we serve in Chicago.

We will need a large number of volunteers to help at the event itself on Saturday, February 22nd, from 4pm-12am. Volunteers will assist with registration, greeting, silent auction, live auction, raffle sales, check-out and take down.

Please read below for descriptions.

Thank you again for the many blessings that you have shared with the children, families, teens, and seniors at Marillac St. Vincent Family Services.

Fleur de Lis Ball
3:30pm-12am
Navy Pier Grand Ballroom
We will need volunteers to assist with our black-tie event. This year we will have an event for over 800 people. We have a cocktail reception, silent auction, sit-down dinner, awards presentation, live auction, paddleraiser and then live entertainment from Gentlemen of Leisure. We need help with check-in, silent and live auctions, raffle sales, check-out and take-down. Please note that not all volunteers will be required to stay until 12am, but we do need all volunteers to arrive by 4pm and be able to stay until 10pm.

Hello, the volunteer for the Black Tie Affair sounds fun and something that my club and me would like to do. Is there another Black Tie Affair for the year of 2015?

Hello everyone! I just wanted to say thank you to you all for a tremendous helping out with the Fleur de Lis Ball. Everyone did an excellent job helping us set up and at the actual event! Thank you for helping us have another successful event! I just want to let you know that we could not have done it without your help. I realize that I was not able to thank you all individually for the great work you did, but please know that I am extremely grateful for such a hard-working and dedicated group. Words cannot truly express how thankful I am to you all for your great work. I do not have final numbers for how much we raised that night, but I will update you all so you can understand the true impact you had on the families, children, teens, and seniors we serve. Should anyone need hours verification or a recommendation, please feel free to contact me. In addition, please make sure to send to your entire group!

    THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!

Somebody has asked about the waitlist. At this point in time, we do not have room for any more volunteers. If spots become available, I will take people off of the waitlist. Any one who has RSVP'ed yes and is not on the wait list will be able to help out at the event. Should more room become available, I will let people know as soon as possible. I will send more details as the event draws near.
    Thank you.

Hello! I apologize for any confusion. I have amended the event to just include information about Saturday night. If you would like to volunteer on Saturday morning, please contact me directly at [masked].

Volunteers must be able to arrive by 4pm and stay until 10pm due to the nature of the event. Please only commit to the event if you can work Saturday night.

We will provide dinner for all volunteers. Volunteers are asked to wear black pants or a black skirt. We will provide everyone with a t-shirt for the event to distinguish the volunteers. Navy Pier does offer valet parking and parking lots. I am not sure of the rates. However, we are unable to reimburse volunteers for parking fees. Therefore, we recommend taking public transportation or carpooling. Navy Pier is accessible by several bus lines and close to the Red Line.
