Come support Girls on the Run, Monday night, Wicker Park

  • Girls on the Run

Please RSVP at this link if you plan to join us so we can get an accurate count on who is coming.

Girls on the Run is a life-changing, experiential learning program for girls age eight to thirteen years old. The programs combine training for a 5K running event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts. The goals of the programs are to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual and physical development.

Come join One Brick volunteers this Monday night in Wicker Park as we help GOTR sort T shirts for the girls in their new running season.  GOTR events are one of the most popular events with volunteers on the One Brick Calendar because everyone always have a great time during and after the event.

Volunteers will help pack and sort items, and will have a chance to meet, talk, and socialize with each other during our tasks.

After the event, volunteers will be going out to a restaurant near by to eat and drink and get to know each other. This is optional but a very fun way to meet great people with similar interest in supporting our community and learn about other amazing volunteer opportunities. It will be a fun way to spend a Monday night, improving the lives of young girls and meeting new friends.

GOTR office is near the CTA blue line Damen stop, as well as near the Milwaukee, Damen and North Ave bus routes. Some free street parking is available on the side streets, as well as meter parking on the main streets.

One Brick Chicago chapter is 100% volunteer operated, with very little overhead and no pay staff. We don't even have a physical office.
One Brick is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization (Federal ID:[masked]) that brings volunteers together to support other local non-profits by adopting an innovative twist to the volunteer experience: we create a friendly and social atmosphere around volunteering, and after each volunteer event -- which typically lasts only 3 to 4 hours -- we invite volunteers to gather at a local restaurant or café where they can get to know one another in a relaxed social setting. You can sign up or find many volunteer opportunities at

Over the past 13 years, Girls on the Run-Chicago has served more than 27,000 girls aged 8-14 across 6 Chicagoland counties. In 2013, more than 1,000 coaches will mentor 8,000 girls - empowering them with the confidence and character they need to become strong, healthy women.
