Every year the Food Depository conducts a city wide food drive campaign called One City, One Food Drive throughout November and December. This year, the goal is to collect 1,000,000 meals worth of food donations! To get more people involved, GCFD has organized large events to pass out brown paper bags to commuters and ask them to bring it back the next day filled with a food items. Last year, they collected 10,000 pounds of food in one day at our Union Station collection! This year, They’re going to build on that success and expand to both the Merchandise Mart and Ogilvie Transportation Center. The Greater Chicago Food Depository needs your help to pass out bags and encourage donations.
VOLUNTEER SHIFT IS FROM 4pm-7pm
Volunteers will pass out paper bags during this shift, to be collected the following day during the early morning shift.
