I grew up volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, the local food bank and our church's homeless program. More recently, I've volunteered at Friends of the Chicago River, and I've done a couple Chicago Cares programs. I'm currently not volunteering anywhere.
What you devote your life to says where your values are. I am a fundraiser and am a certified massage therapist on the side. My goal is to help people. Some people's goals are money driven, which is fine especially depending on what they do with that money. Moral fiber is the strength of your character. Do you help others? Do you stand up for what you believe in?
I have lived in the city for over 8 years now, but do not have a car. I would need help getting to non-city events.
I'm fairly open to helping out all sorts of groups.
I found this group through Meetup, on the sidebar "People in this Meetup are also in:"
