I’ve lived in the Chicagoland area for 13 years. Community service has always been one of the most rewarding parts of my life.
I try to volunteer at least two weekends a month, mostly with Chicago Cares, the village I live in or with Ladder Up. I have also volunteered with Ronald McDonald House, One Brick Chicago and with CURE’s Remote Area Medical Clinics.
Any service or activity where someone is giving back or helping others cultivates the kindness and compassion we are born with. I believe those are the qualities that help build and strengthen communities. We see people that lack kindness and compassion every day; they might feel they have strong characters or good moral fiber, but they don’t look too happy or fulfilled, not to mention their communities, whatever they may be, are often weak or broken. That’s no way to live!
I am happy to get a ride or to transport, not a problem!
I enjoy working with adults and/or seniors. I prefer activities that address hunger, literacy, health, the environment or economic stability.
I found you on Meetup!
Had a great time - nice to meet all of you! Looking forward to seeing you again.

Hi Liz,
I see you are offering rides from Skokie. I'm in River North very near the Ohio St exit on 94. Any chance I could hop a ride as you zoom past the city?
GO OKC!! THUNDER UP!!! :)
Hi Liz, Just wanted to say it was nice meeting on Saturday. I enjoyed the conversation with you and Diane (I'm hoping I remembered her name right.). Tell her thanks for talking me into buying the goat cheese with cranberries. It can only be described as decadent!
Hi Liz, We like to have fun too, Welcome to the NSDO.
