Right now, I'm working with Catharsis Productions based in the West Loop. My brother started the company 15 years ago with his partner. They use humor, wit and discussion to address the issues a sexual assault on college campuses and military bases. They are looking to expand their business from live productions (for college orientations) to digital media. Since I have a background in this area, they have brought me on board to help steer the strategy. At this point we're working on a content marketing strategy (blog), social media (FB, Twitter), Web Apps, online training course and more.
I would like to learn how to grow the company digitally. Catharsis has fantastic traction with students from their live person show. However, they would like to maintain that engagement and are looking to complement the shows with digital offerings. They need to grow their online presence and they would like to do it quickly. I would like to learn what the low hanging fruit is in this arena. Obviously, I want to learn more about SEO, Social Media, and email marketing, but I'll try anything that works. I'm hoping this is the type of group that focuses on "whatever works" rather than on "whatever's hot"
My name is Dillon Murphy. Historically, I am a SW product manager. I've worked at Motorola Mobility, Tribune Company and Hotwire.com. I am currently taking the Starter League's WebDev course so I can prototype my web applications ideas.
