Looking for a place to hold this- or possibly many places- we could move it around. It would be great to have a monthly meeting- Like a book club- where we share our songs we've written and help each other improve them.  I'm flexible on the day of week, and if it really becomes poplular, we can definitely break off into more groups.

Ahh the radiation blues! Just came to me after Chernobyl and I toss in three mile island and I think I was trying to impress this chick who was an anti nuke activist ! The song got me what I wanted! ( wink wink and a nod! ) but alas my ulterior motives drive much of my music along with just venting! Deep thoughts with ....... LoL

Thanks for the inquiry about the nature of my upcoming sci-fi novel Jeff. I actually do watch Defiance and find it entertaining. I especially like that alien girl who is mostly out of control and is always pulling a dagger on people. She's like an Amazon female warrior archetype who fears nobody and nobody to be messed with. She represent the type of female character that will be in the alternative society that I want to create with my vision of a new world. Its a military ordered society like Star Trek mixed with Avatar ( A spiritually centered homebase like Hometree with a total respectful attitude and love for all life forms) Its very complex and layered and when we hang out I can let you read sections I've mostly completed and explain other ideas in person. Interestingly, a lot of my original music (which is pretty much all I concern myself with) is going to be used for a lot of the soundtracks and concept development.Your radiation song fits in nicely here. See you Friday.

After an invasion of alien monkees in the land of Oz who used mind control techniques to upset the beautiful balance in the land of humans the spirit of Gwendolyn settled over the people again restoring harmony and peace throughout the land. Thanks to a mighty exchange of Emails between two of its inhabitants in the land of Song good tidings again reign throughout the land. As John Lennon once said "Theres only one way to go out George, and thats singing". Apologies all around to all people involved who couldn't make the last meetup for whatever reason . Please come back and bring your singing voice and guitar with you. Being a human being can be awful hard sometimes especially when your working with old core issues, Thank you Dr. Freud. Communication skills sure work well when you use them. Thanks Jeff.(and Brutus) See you all soon!

Peace has been restored to the sun baked earth and a cool breeze blows over the land ushering in a summer of love and understanding. I feel so light now I can float away. See you Jeff and Robert and all others at the Friday get together at Doc Midnights comic store for an evening of brotherly love and great music. I look forward to seeing Brutus too, your wonderful dog (if you bring him). Thanks dude.

The Songwriters get together at Jeff's house in Orland Park was fantastic. Great group of people with lots of original songs shared amongst ourselves and Jeff's wonderful dog Brutus. After a variety of Pina Coladas,Beer and wine we were in fine spirits to socialize and sing our hearts out.Jeff was a generous and entertaining host with an edgy baritone blues/rock voice. Brian added alternative'jazz/folk original songs and vocals as well as cool backup leads. Walter"The Man" is called that for a reason. When it comes to music.. He is the "man". Mary added beautiful vocals and a great time was had by all. Jeff mentioned something that stayed with me. He said in the comfort of a home where you can "Break Bread" with others is where friendship begins. I agree. The coziness and relaxed nature of the get together is a good Blueprint for future get togethers. Theres more than just getting together and playing music (although that in itself is enough)
Its time to write more lyrics..Bye

Since we're already at 8 of 10, what say we call it for either Jeff's or Walter's for this time?

I can host also! Like Walter I am on the south side in Orland park! Outside around the fire put would be awesome! I also am going to check with the Lockport VFW hall! I can do inside as well but like Walter I would have to limit it to about 10 to 15 people

I can vlunteer my place to meet; but I can only accomodate around 10 people. I'm in Midlothian, and I know many of you north siders aren't familiar with places south of Irving Park.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
