Chicago Guitarists Open Mic/Social/Guitar Jam

Hey all,

We are having another Open Mic/Guitar Jam/Social but this time at least for a month we're at Third Coast Comics.

We did a recent song writers club here and it worked out fairly well although for Open Mic night, I can see it getting a bit tight so travel light :)

BYO...food, snacks, and favorite drink/adult beverage.

The format is very relaxed.  We are open to ultra beginners.  Never hesitate to talk "music" with any of us.  Getting out of our comfort zone is the evening's objective.

The sign up list will be available, and after everyone gets a chance on stage we'll open the event up for Jamming and such.

I know at the Yacht Club we tend to go past midnight for a couple of hours but Third Coast Comics is a retail store in a residential building soooo we might have to be completely done by 1:00 am

Note 1: I don't have a PA or anything so if you have an amp and need it you should bring it.

Note 2: I'm going to repeat this meetup for the 3rd Friday of the month but we'll change the locations if more suitable places pop or or we end up at CCYC again.

Thanks for the condolences ! 2013 was a rough year for me! December was especially rough but it's all part of the cycle of life! 2014 is going to be a great year! It's the year of love peace joy prosperity and making music ! I have a trainer in Tennessee that is locating and training a new service dog for me and I will have a new dog in March hopefully! Yeah losing Brutus was devastating! He was a hero and my best friend! My broken ribs are healing up good and I am looking forward to making meet ups and having fun with you making music!

Thanks to Terry once again for hosting at the Comic Book Store...

I also want to thank Stew for coming up with the "crazy" idea of heading over to the CCYC... The party continued after leaving the Comic Book Store at about 1030P...
It was so much fun and little did we realize that it was almost 2AM by the time we left there.

Which brings me to another point to discuss...

How many of us would be willing to meet at the CCYC around 10PM on any given Friday or Saturday?

Just a thought considering how much fun we had last night.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to ALL!

Hi Joseph, Caroline, Walter, Terry, Jeff, et al: I was set to go last night and started coming down with something yesterday afternoon and had to work today so stayed home to knock it out of me. Sounds like I missed something fun. Hope you all have a nice xmas. I think the CCYC idea above is a great idea BTW.

I will bring copies of music, so we can easily play and sing along. If others can do so, great.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
