What kind of axe ya got?

Fender amplified acoustic; also have a Squire Tele I bought cheap, an acoustic Seagull, a Hohner acoustic I bought real cheap. My son is a multi-instrumentalist and he has lent me a bass (Epiphone) and is teaching me some basics on it.

What kind of music do you like to listen to/play?

Listen: baroque/classical, rock, jazz (especially '30s-'60s big band, bop, post-bop, some free jazz), blues, almost anything, not much into hiphop/rap. Play: late-'50s-early-'70s rock, folk, pop, etc. Favorites from that era are probably Dylan, Stones, Winwood/Traffic/Blind Faith/Spencer Davis Group, Animals, Hendrix, Cream, Doors, Joplin, Jefferson Airplane pre-'71, The Band.

What would you like to see/do at a guitar meet-up group?

Listen and learn. Be able to accompany on guitar and sing backing voc. if appropriate, eventually learn to do some soloing.

Introduction

Name is Mac, took up guitar four years ago today (first lesson 4/14/10) at age of almost 55, now almost 59. Widower now engaged to a woman 16 years younger.
