Monthly Homebirth Meetup - Illinois Midwifery Legislation Update

  • Oct 28, 2012 · 12:00 PM
  • Hip Circle Studio

Join Barbara Belcore-Walkden for an update on Illinois midwifery legislation and discuss how homebirth can become accessible to more families in our area.  Bring your questions and your suggestions!

As always, we'll do introductions and will invite the sharing of birth stories.

Please note the time change for the meetup - we'll get started at noon and will need to finish up by 1:30 pm.

It was more on legal issues as they relate to being pregnant than anything else. Barb talked about the difference between CPM and CNM in the state. We touched on the need for a more active role by parents to be more organized and we talked a little about the birth centers that are being built. I'm also really looking forward to finding out more about our organizational effort. Did I miss anything?

I wasn't able to be there, I'd love to hear about who and where the free-standing birth centers are that are in the works. Thanks!

Will there be a summary of the meeting posted online anywhere? I'm interested to hear the legislation update, but I have a morning commitment on Sundays, and I would not be able to get to a meeting at noon.

I would love to go, but the Halloween party at my kids' school is that afternoon. Please keep me posted!
