Silent Auction, Oct. 11th, funds benefit low income mothers who wish to have a homebirth!

Hello everyone,
?
(Thank you Kerry at Bloom Yoga for encouraging me to send this to the Chicago Homebirth Meetup Group members!)

I recently went to a birth film festival at Mother Me, Inc. on Ravenswood. I met an expectant mother, Tone and her doula, Megan. Megan has organized a fundraiser and silent auction to help cover the expense of Tone's homebirth! Any extra funds that are raised will be donated to the Coalition for IL Midwifery and will be allocated to other low income moms who hope to have a home birth. Hope you can make it! Let me know if you plan to attend or if you have questions!

Here are the details:
TONE &? BEAR'S HOMEBIRTH FUNDRAISER & SILENT AUCTION
Sunday Oct. 11th, 2009
1-4pm Open House
1712 W. Devon Ave
There will be donation based massages and foot baths, a bake sale, homemade soap for sale. The silent auction will include thai bodywork sessions, acupuncture, tarot readings, kombucha starter kit + lessons, house cleaning services, a gift certificate to True Nature, doula services, a photography session, a package from Bloom Yoga Studio, etc.

The proceeds will benefit this couple's home birth costs as well as the Coalition for IL Midwifery. Extra funds that are raised will be allocated to other low income moms who hope to have a home birth. The Coalition for IL Midwifery's ultimate goal is to pass licensure which will enable direct-entry midwives, who carry the Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) credential to practice legally and in harmony with other Illinois maternity care providers. http://www.illinoismidwifery.org/

We hope you can attend and bring some friends.? We're all about supporting each other and getting to know more moms.

Take Care,
