Grown Folks Stories

Grown Folks Stories™ - Chicago, IL

It's back!

For those of you who keep missing it and those who can't get enough of it, we're doing it again!

Local storyteller Cara Brigandi hosts no-notes tales by amateur and professional storytellers. Drop your name in the hat for a five-minute turn at the mic. Most stories are light and entertaining to downright hilarious, while others can be very sobering and heart-felt. Come on out with us to hear some great unscripted tales from the lives of everyday people or maybe get up to tell a story of your own. It's always a good time!

They have a start time of 7:30, but that's usually when they start accepting names for those telling stories. It is a BYOB event, too. So bring whatever spirits or drinks you like. And if you get there after 7:40, you might want to bring your own chair. After that time, standing room only remains. They usually start the show at 8:00 pm. Usually, after the show, a good number of us head up the street to Rodan for a drink and maybe a bite to eat. I hope to see you there!

I am standing in the last row of seats, near the jewelry counter, wearing a black hoodie and a Meetup button.
