Come learn about the work being done by the Data Science for Social Good fellows:
The Eric & Wendy Schmidt Data Science for Social Good fellowship is a University of Chicago summer program for aspiring data scientists to work on analytics projects with social impact.
We've brought 36 fellows to Chicago to work on data problems with the City of Chicago, the Chicago Transit Authority, Cook County, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and other government agencies and nonprofits. The program is funded by Google chairman Eric Schmidt and run by chief data scientist for the Obama campaign Rayid Ghani.
Fellows will talk about their projects in the areas of health, education, transportation, energy, and more, focusing on why they're tackling the problems they're working on, and what machine learning and statistical techniques they're using to do so.
