This is a group of Chicago parents who want their children to grow up multilingual (speaking 2 or more languages). It provides support and advice for parents who are trying to teach their kids proficiency in several languages or at least raise them aware and have a basic understanding of languages other than English. As the membership pool grows, it will facilitate playdates or playgroups based on foreign languages or other interests. It will explore travel and other opportunities (e.g., summer camps, foreign language classes, immersion opportunities) which can help parents and their kids achieve their foreign language goals. It will strive to help parents raise globally aware citizens of the world. It will bring together children who are comfortable expressing in more than one language. Participation in its events will give children more confidence to express themselves in public in a language other than the language spoken by the community at large. Finally, the group will celebrate and embrace diversity of ideas, cultures, languages, opinions, parenting styles or beliefs, etc. Join us if you would like to meet like-minded parents in Chicago, help your children meet other kids fluent in several languages, and make this world a better and smaller place by raising responsible global citizens at home anywhere in the world.  Parents who do not live in metropolitan Chicago can still join if they want, but the group's activities will be geared towards local families.
