You must register with your full name on the day before the meetup, at the latest. Otherwise, you won't be able to get past security.

Open Source Node.js Workshop

Come prepared to write some code! This workshop will focus on building features on top of an existing, small project. Attendees will form teams (or go solo) and assign features to themselves to work on.

Tasks will range from easy to hard. You can also come up with your own features and work on them.

The purpose of this workshop is to get comfortable with (1) other people's Node.js code, (2) the Github workflow, (3) Open Source in general.

When you complete your task, we can merge it into the repository and test it out! If you don't complete it before leaving, you can keep working on it until next month where we'll have a quick recap of the features completed, including a demo.

If people enjoy this workshop, we can move it to a separate hack night each month. Let us know if that interests you.

The Project

The project itself is a simple chat server. We will be adding features to for this workshop. You can take a look at the features here, but don't fork/pull anything just yet.
