Full Stack Node.js & CoffeeScript Development

Want to learn how to build "Full Stack" MVC apps - like those
traditionally built with PHP and Rails - in Node.js and CoffeeScript? Or at least learn why that might be a good idea? Then come to this talk by Myles Byrne!

He will walk through the architecture and design decisions for one in-production application and attempt to make the case for why you're next node.js app doesn't need a framework, just lots of small modules with clear responsibilities.

Walmart Labs Tools

Kevin Decker of Walmart Labs will demo how they use this SPA developer proxy tool internally called mock-server. It covers all of your needs for SPA, proxies, mocks, heroku, github webhooks, CORS, and automated rebuilds.

Kevin will also cover the related githubpub project. It's a Node+ Heroku-based pubnub bridge for the github webhook API.https://github.com/kpdecker/githubpub

Walmart Labs Tools was alright--the speaker was good, but the content's implications weren't immediately clear. It was a presentation worth spelling out, I think.

Full Stack Node.js developement was a great, highly animated, talk. It had a lot of opinions (as opposed to data driven facts) but was nice to see some one talk about working with node, and get their unadulterated position. The speaker really seemed to know his stuff.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
