There will be dozens if not hundreds of photographers there. It will be almost impossible to get together and still get in position for the start of the race. I'll have more details of where I'll be on Thursday, I'll try to put a later meeting place at a bar along the course then.

**** UPDATE *****

I have not been assigned a specific place to be at a specific time,  I'll likely be on a roof at the start of the race.  You should gather somewhere near the start around 12:00.  If you look at the updated checkpoint map, you will see the places that the teams will gather during the race, you should try and catch them at several of them.  For sure I will be in front of the Bottom Lounge at 1637 W Lake between 2:00 and 2:30.  I'll be wearing a black parka and jeans.  Just walk up and say hi, I rarely bite.

Starting Line

A great place to watch the race is near the starting line. The race will begin at the corner of Wollcot and Hubbard (map) at 12:30 pm. Feel free to come on by to congratulate all the participants on their lack of taste as they cross the starting line. Cheer on your favorite dawgs (please leave your real pets at home) and mushers as they make their way towards the first checkpoint. Be there by 12 noon or you’ll miss the starting horn. And in case you were wondering – YES, the starting line is EPIC.

Finish Line

The 2013 finish line is hosted by our friends at Bottom Lounge. Get there by around 2:30 pm if you want to catch the first teams as they cross the finish line in all of their glory, pain, and exhaustion. Awards ceremony is around 5:30-6:00 pm, depending on the pressure in the room and how fast we can tally prizes.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
