Lunar New Year Parade

  • February 2, 2014 · 1:00 PM

The Lunar New Year Parade Sunday, February 2, 2014 is the Chinese New Year Parade at 1pm. It begins at 24th and Wenthworth and goes north to Cermak. In 2014 it is the year of the horse. The Chinese New Year is also called the Chinese Spring Festival.

I strongly encourage you to get there early, especially if you plan on driving, parking is a nightmare and very expensive. I speak from personal experience as I missed this event last year because I could not find a place to park. Take public transit if you can. I am.

I know this is Super Bowl Sunday but this is a New Years celebration. I hope to see many of you there. I will be in a red baseball cap around 24th & Wentworth.

I had a very good time. It was very cold but the colors and celebration made it all worth it.

Definitely going to the parade, though chances of recognizing each other out of the crowd are pretty slim. Maybe we could setup a photo gallery to share some of the images?

Serge, At the conclusion of the Meetup there will be a gallery that you and others may post their shots for the group to see. Go to some of the closed meetups and look at the galleries from them.

I wish I could go -- I am going to be out of town this weekend. Thanks for putting it together.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
