Chicago Reading Africa was inspired by Kinna Reads' Africa Reading Challenge. We primarily operate as a book discussion group for African writing but we also explore other narrative forms (film and other visual arts). If you are interested in reading books from the African diaspora (with emphasis on authors from Africa and the Caribbean), join us!

Remember to check us out on Tumblr & GoodReads and subscribe to our newsletter here.

Our Participation Policy: To keep this group as intimate and active as it's been, we operate with a participation policy. At 6-month intervals, we check in with inactive members. Those who are not interested in remaining in the group are removed.
