Attention all IT security professionals! If you want to know more about Information Security, you should join! If you know a lot about Information Security, you should join! Chicago has a very large tech base, and this meetup is intended as a forum to share ideas, trends, network and learn. Bring your laptops and gadgets, and an OPEN MIND about the assortment of people that are brought together by our shared interest in the way things work. We’ll be talking about Linux, Windows, Mac, UNIX, BSD, ReactOS, Security, DefCon, BackTrack, Pen-Testing, RFID, WIFI, LPFM, and more. Participants from Science, Industrial, Mechanical, EFF, CISSP, Admin, Apache, Open Source, and other backgrounds welcome. Socialize, Experiment, Play, Share, Theorize, Imagine. Learn! An agenda for each meeting will be announced with every scheduled meetup. Usually we will discuss things that range from network security, "hacking", programming, social engineering, discoveries, urban exploration, phreaking, lock picking, etc. The structure will be: 10 minutes: Intro 15 minutes: Discussion of latest industry news (LulzSec, Anonymous, latest vulnerabilities, etc.) 45 minutes: Presenter- we will arrange a specific industry expert to talk about his/her area of expertise. Topic will vary based on interests of those in the group 15-30 minutes: Q + A and Discussion At all of the meetups, free beer and pizza will be provided!
