CFI Presents: Dangerous Nonsense
Early Registration Prices End April 7. From their website: Center for Inquiry/Chicago is pleased to present its first Annual Spring Conference! Bunkum grows like a weed in American culture—whether it's climate change denial, conspiracy theories, or other wild claims. In this age of blogs and the internet, where misinformation can be spread more easily than ever before, there has never been a more important time to understand the role of the scientific process in human affairs. This conference will present top scientists in both physics and biology, each of them gifted at explaining their methods of understanding the world through their respective fields. This conference offers valuable insight into understanding the world through science and reason. Confirmed Speakers: Dr. Massimo Pigliucci , professor of evolution and ecology, contributing writer for Skeptical Inquirer Dr. Veronica Drantz , professor of physiology Dr. Michael Albrow , physicist at FermiLab Dr. Ron Pine , explorer, retired biology professor, and debunker of “Intelligent Design” Dr. Dario Maestripieri , professor of evolutionary biology The Mentalist ' Mystopher' and Carolee , “Serving Fork-Fulls of Magic and Imagination”

Hate to use the word "high spirits" but hard to find another to describe the level of cerebral and sincere emotional engagement of speakers as well as people from CFI, Skeptics, Brights, A. Atheists, Student- groups from all over... enjoyed everyone's thoughtfulness, wit, and magic (another no-no word...but can YOU figure out what Mystopher and Carolee were doing???)
