Name That Logical Fallacy!

It's game show time at Chicago Skeptics, and what better game than the game of logic?!

Name That Logical Fallacy is a test game for Skeptics based off the wonderful Book of Bad Arguments ( Three contestants, who will be chosen at random from the crowd, will have the opportunity to win wonderful prizes by identifying the logical fallacies enacted by the animated, multi-faceted Chicago Skeptics Actor's Troupe*!

Come one, come all for fun, laughs and learning as we explore the many ways in which people fail to make sense of...well, everything!

*This troupe doesn't actually exist. I just thought it sounded cool. Incidentally, if you're willing to be one of the actors, please let me know!

I was really hoping to make it to this one, but I've been sick the past few days. Can we have another Meet N Think before the end of the year? I really enjoyed talking to all of you at the last one and would love to get together for another one!

We're working on something Festivus-y for December, would that do? We also just hang out after the meetups... some of us (way) longer than others, heh.

Yes, that would be great! I will keep an eye out for other meetups as well.

OMG Camp ! While "you're out for the time being" find some TLC, sounds like you really need it ? Jennifer worked hard & did very fine job, (bad jokes & or brags aside) & I for one, appreciate all the effort everyone (Jairus, Jeff, Jen etc) do all the time. Don't like food - don't eat it? Great location! for numerous reasons.. Don't know about Women's bathroom, but seems some serious renovations are going on, perhaps will improve? - but all in all, what we get from Skeptics day in & day out, & ALL FOR FREE is totally awesome!

You're not required to eat nor drink, nor share myopic criticism! Just a nice group of friendly folks enjoying a leisurely & thoughtful Sat. afternoon together. Perhaps if you'll learn to chill out & have fun, you'll join us again, & even enjoy it ?

In any event we are going to find things that we like and things that we don't like. I still think Black Rock is a good venue because the positives outweigh the negatives, but I am sure everybody would be happy to hear of alternatives. Does anybody know of a better venue that could be used in place of Black Rock? Then we could compare and decide.

While I regret that Camp didn't enjoy the event or venue, I'm very grateful to Jen Cross for trying something new and I think folks had a great time with it. Thank you, Jen. The group could use a few more folks willing to step up and take a risk. As for Black Rock, they have been very kind to us over the years, and while they have limited their menu a bit in the past year, I do enjoy the food.

I'll continue to suggest that people buy a drink or snack as a thank you to the venue. That lone bartender worked his ass off for us.

Are camp's comments part of the logical fallacy game?

Sorry, I have something unexpected to attend to. Wish I could be there!

Calling all actors, performers and people who love to be silly!

I'm looking for up to 6 people who would be willing to enact examples of the logical fallacies for the game show. This will be an improv set up, so it would be great if you're comfortable performing off the cuff. Please PM me if you're interested! Thanks!
