Networking Event for Science Enthusiasts (free w/code)

Before the Carl Sagan celebration on Thursday folks might want to stop by this event for science enthusiasts:

A great opportunity to meet other fans of science and learn about a number of area organizations in the local science and technology community. C2ST is sponsoring a networking event that will include the Illinois Science Technology Coalition, the Illinois Science Teachers Association, the ARCS Foundation and the Illinois Science Council.

You'll have the chance to enjoy some food and drink and socialize while enjoying the ambiance of the Notebaert Nature Museum and the butterfly haven. The event is a great opportunity for Chicago-area science and technology professionals, educators and enthusiasts to socialize and connect.

FREE for members of participating organizations; $15 for general attendees

Skeptics Meetup members may use ISC's code (NETWORK!) on your registration
(You won't get in free if you just respond on meetup. You must register at: http://bit.ly/VBYgYP and use the discount code.)

Attendees will be able to visit the Judy Istock Butterfly haven, a 2,700 square foot greenhouse that holds over 1,000 butterflies from 75 different species, and bird species from the Southern hemisphere. The space is filled with pools of water, flowers, and tropical trees. The Wilderness Walk will also be open, which includes three re-created environments: a prairie, savanna, and dune, with both live and preserved animals. And on the Micole Birdwalk, enjoy a beautiful view of the city skyline.

Hmmm, this and the Sagan Day event are both on Fullerton, about a mile apart. Pretty convenient.
