What was your path to skepticism?

Studying engineering.

What is the best day and time for you to meet?

Afternoons and on weekends, basically at any time. But mainly afternoons. :)

Are you alarmed by the state of scientific knowledge among the general population in America?

In general, yes. But I think it's not as alarming as this inquiry makes it seem. I still believe in common decency in fellow human beings and I still think that one person can be rational and understanding so long as he or she isn't prey to the delusions of the majority as models of herd behavior.

Are there issues or topics you'd especially like to discuss?

Math, physics, chemistry, biology, geology, astronomy, earth science in general... from those to all their subdivisions. :) I'd also include articles about science and scientific discoveries, good politics, matters of economy, sociology, psychology, energy, and anything that's deemed of concern to society and to us.

Introduction

I consider myself a rationalist and I don't allow myself to think in mysticism and in supernatural explanations, neither as a way of finding out what reality is nor as a modifier of my personality.
