The DMX Dance Company is a movement that began to take shape in April of 1999, when friends & other dancers came together to teach and share their dance experiences beyond simply giving quick tips, sparking the development of a team of well-informed dancers whose commitment to the Art of Dance would develop a teaching program regarded by many as simply….THE BEST.

These individuals dedicated themselves to the promotion of their Art as the African American treasure that it is. They further desired to teach “quality” fundamentals and the intricate values of the original art. Those smooth, controlled and cool movements so commonplace to Steppin. The DMX Dance Co. Team seeks to exhibit the best of both worlds by re-introducing the classic and elegant techniques of the past, in addition to some of the new and invigorating moves of today.

The staff of instructors at the DMX Dance Company collectively boasts over 30 years of dance experience and more than 10 years of teaching experience. DMX Dance Co. takes pride in its ability to maintain poise, and its impressive level of expertise is unparalleled. DMX Dance Co.’s standard of professionalism, structure, and its teaching program allow is instructors to present information in an easy to understand format geared for practical application.

This structured program is accomplished by providing real explanations and legitimate reasons for “why” and “how” the techniques of Stepping are performed and has proven effective in teaching students of all ages, dance-skill levels and abilities the proper techniques necessary to perform “authentic” Chicago Steppin.
