UPDATE[masked]: The weather looks good LET'S PICNIC!! See you on the Great Lawn. Bring your own food or drink or just come to chat. My blanket can seat about 5-7 people.
Let's relax, meet our fellow Chicago SummerDance Friends (CSDF), and share our 2014 SummerDance declaration. You're welcome (but not obligated) to bring a picnic dinner for yourself (alcohol's permitted on the lawn, but not required).
The most important thing is that you show up ready to share your "dance declaration" with your new dance floor friends: "My name is _____________ and this SD season I will _______________." (e.g. come 3 times; go to all the ballroom events; become a better leader, etc.) Make your declaration public so CSDF can encourage you to follow-through! For those of you who can't make this event, please share your declaration in the comments section.
I'll reconfirm when I find out exactly when the lawn opens, but the plan is to begin as close to 5:30 as possible. I'll have a quilt that can accommodate about 5-7 people (yes, it's big), first come, first seated. Feel free to bring your own blanket.
At 6:30pm a performance of Handel's "Water Music" will begin. This performance is part of the Grant Park Music Festival.
