Short term trading strategies for Long Term Success

Joshua E. Betancourt is a multi-million dollar portfolio manager and founder of Quantum Capital Investments, a Registered investment advisory firm. In this workshop, Joshua will discuss his unique vision and strategies that have helped him to outperform the markets.

Topics of discussion include:

* Quantitative techniques to find trading opportunities
* Combining fundamental and technical analysis
* Options strategies to hedge a portfolio and reduce risk

Mr. Betancourt began working as an assistant on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. At the CME Mr. Betancourt was exposed to high level money management techniques working alongside institutions and professional money managers and traders. This exposure allowed him to later develop proprietary investment strategies incorporating options and futures in a traditional portfolio.

In 2003 Mr. Betancourt was recruited by Refco, now known as MF Global, and one of the largest Futures Commission Merchants in the world. At MF Global, Mr. Betancourt managed the third party systems trading unit and was head of the systematic trading desk. After having achieved success in the Alternative Investment space, Mr. Betancourt joined the Wealth Management division of UBS, managing equity, fixed income, and alternative investments.

Today, Mr. Betancourt is the Senior Portfolio Manager for Quantum Capital Investments, a firm he helped to establish, where he manages Multi Manager portfolios in stocks, bonds, and options. His Investment management approach relies heavily on extensive manager research and the use of quantitative performance metrics to enhance growth and lower risk.
