File Preparation Discussion---How to Properly Prepare and Format Files For Print

In this first meet up, the discussion will be about how to properly prepare files for print.

The discussion will include what programs are best to use for design, which programs should not be used, and reasons why for each.

The discussion will also include how to format proper bleeds, color mode, resolution issues and locating the proper templates to be used on various printed products.

Opinions and suggestions on how everyone currently prepares their own files are welcomed of course.

We will provide appetizers and drinks for the discussion, and we look forward to meeting new people and making new networking contacts.

Rich Appenzeller and Randy Kmieciak presented an excellent presentation, demonstration, and examples on the do's, don'ts, and some great tips for ensuring that the design file you send to to them to get printed is properly setup. As a designer myself, it was a great review for me and I learned new some things that I didn't know, such as what there their preferred PDF settings are.

Are there any specific tips people would like to learn about at our seminar? Please post them here so that we are sure to address them for you.
