As creatives, we always have countless questions about how to assemble our portfolios, how to present it — digital vs. hardcopy, what to include, etc. We also encounter constant questions on how to prepare our resumes: Should it be a basic straight and narrow resume, or should it show our creativity with a bit of flair and design?
To help answer these questions, we are fortunate to be able to bring in Shannon Sanderson, Branch Operations Manger from Digital People, to speak about what employers and recruiters look for in a portfolio and a resume. Shannon has been actively involved in creative and marketing recruiting for more than 15 years. She will help us answer so many questions we as designers have regarding our portfolios and resumes. Feel free to bring in your portfolios for some quick feedback on what you may want to do to enhance its presentation.
Whether you are searching out an entry-level creative position, an experienced designer getting the itch to move on, an independent freelance designer or even if you are content with your current position, this is an event you don't want to miss!
As always, our events are free, and food and beverages will be provided. We'll also have plenty of time available for networking with fellow designers.
