Lake Shelbyville Weekend Options:

I am planning a trip to Lake Shelbyville the weekend of April 19 – 21.  We can either stay in cabins or tent camp.  I would like to hike 2 National Recreation Trails (Chief Illini Trail:  11 miles and Camp Camfield Trail:  6.8 miles) and bike another trail (The Darcy Trail:  7.2 miles).  Also, Mushroom Fest is going on in the area which includes a Mushroom hunt, craft booths, food booths, etc.

The average high for this time of year is 64 with a low of 43.

Looking of your opinion which way to go:

Option 1:  Cabins: We will be staying in 1 or 2 cabins.  They hold 16 – 18 people each (34 people total).  The cabins have heat, electricity, flush toilets, showers, a full kitchen, indoor fireplace, etc.  The cost will be $60 per person for cabin rental, 2 breakfasts (Saturday and Sunday), Saturday Night dinner, firewood, and pay-pal fees.

Option 2:  Tent Camping: We will be staying a group site at Wolf Creek State Park.  There is No electricity, flush toilets, or showers. There are only vault toilets.  No food or beverages will be provided.  We will have a potluck Saturday night.  You will need to bring a dish to pass.  The cost will be $15 per person for the campsite, firewood, and pay-pay fees.  The description of the tent camping trip is at:­
