Subject: [chess-243] Chess,The Musical" - upcoming play in Rogers Park

I wanted to let the chess meetup know about a new threatre show starting soon that features our beloved game as the main theme.

The show is taking place at the No Exit Cafe on the north side of Chicago in Rogers Park. Its a cabaret theater, and dinner is served by the cast before the show. The play is described as a "cold war rock musical", and it was a cult hit in the 1980s. The plot revolves around two chess players, an American and a Russian, and a woman who is one player's manager but in love with the other player. Many of you know of Tim Rice's music from the Chess album, including the hit song One Night in Bangkok".

There are several show dates between March 7-April 25 , info can be found here

On Saturday, March 20, myself and fellow chess meetup member John B. will be playing Blitz chess against each other before the show as part of the "Pre-show" entertainment...come out and join the fun!

-Bruce
