Playgroup @ Pirates Cove ~ Children's Theme Park (Elk Grove Village)

Cost: $11 per playing child (FREE for all Adults)

If the weather is decent out for some outdoor play, we will be meeting in the Pirates Cove Children's Theme Park in Elk Grove Village.  For those who would like to enjoy the park together, lets plan on meeting up at the Kids Carousel or Hand Propelled Trains @ 11am.

If you have never been here, this place is a childrens theme park geared towards 1-8 year olds with unlimited access to the following attractions: Kids Carousel, Hand Propelled Trains, Castle of Camelot (playground), Paddle Boats, Pirate Plunge (large slide), Rock Climbing Wall, Jolly Rogger Jump (inflateable bounce house), Safari Express (train ride), Pirate Ship (craft area below and pinic tables above), plus Entertainment Stage where they have shows and activities for the kids from 10a-2p.  Adults can ride/play with their children on the Pirate Plunge (large slide), Safari Express (train) and in the Castle of Camelot (playground).

FYI ~ The daily admission receipt gives you come and go access, so technically you could come in the morning and return later in the day after the kids naps, since on Thursdays this place is open from 10am-8pm.  This place allows you to bring in outside food, so you can pack a lunch and make a day of it.  They have a two seperate picnic table area's to use; tables/chairs with unbrellas located on the top of the Pirate Ship and picnic tables under a shade canopy located behind the paddle boat area.  They also have a concession stand with food, drinks and ice cream treats too.  Plenty of FREE parking.

Looks like we are going to cash in some spare change and get our girls season passes this year to Pirates Cove, so if anyone ever wants to join us here again let us know.
Tip: This place has discounted rates from 4-8pm and from chatting up with the staff Pirates Cove is usually busy in the morning hours and empties out after 2pm.

Considering getting the pass as well since we're 5mins. away.....I just don't know I how many train rides I can take in one day without needing a stiff drink afterwards.

Jeremy - Very cool! I understand your thought process but one good thing is that there is not a theme song that is played over and over that will get in your head too while riding the train :)

Thanks to everyone who was able to come out and join us for a fun Playgroup outing to Pirates Cove Children's Theme Park. If there was a prize for the dad who stayed the longest, we would have won that one (we got there at 10:30am and played continuous till 5:05pm). I hope everyone had a good time with their kids, I know we did!

Looks like were going to have a nice day today for outdoor play @ Pirates Cove. Expecting high of 80, partly cloudy and a very slight chance of rain between 3-4 pm... of which most of us will have gone home by then.

I was able to get our group a discounted rate of $7 per child for Pirates Cove on 6/12. In order to get this rate, I had to pre-pay a deposit for the first 5 children, so I will ask Pat Jacobs (+1) and Jeremy Snyder (+2) to pay me directly and everyone else will pay the cashier... mention your with Chicago Dads Group to receive discounted rate.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
