Hey Everyone,

I'm just seending another notice since the meetup is a few days away.

The next meetup for the Chicago Area D&D meetup group will be at Prairie Moon in Evanston, right in the front of the Restaurant. They aren't horribly busy on Sundays so the owner is cool enough to just lets us have whatever space we need.

We have the space from Noon to 5PM.

There are scheduled to be 3 sessions running and we can accomodate a good number of folks:

Dying Earth meets Song of Fire and Ice is run by Terry

Note: Terry is perfectly well and expect no emergency room visits...

Monte Cook's City of Ptolus mega adventure is run by Betsy

Full Metal Eberron run by Allen

Players - Bring dice and an open mind.
Bring characters too, if you like but we have pregens. The types of characters are mentioned on the group message boards.

Please try and remember that Prairie Moon is public place. They really like having us too so lets remember the rules:

1) Arrive as close to noon as possible (makes it easier for your DMs)
Some folks get there around 11:30 to order lunch

2) Order at the bar (makes it easier)
The restaurant is really only staffed for a light brunch on Sunday mornings so...

3) Be considerate (I define considerate very broadly)
Imagine you're going to hear a talk by a great writer in a nice downtown Evanston restaurant. Imagine that there may also be future employers present who love gamers. Imagine also that your mom is watching.

Show up with all of that in mind and you'll be fine and all die rolls will probably be 18 or better.

Everytime I shower I feel like I can roll critical hit at will on you guys! I'm may even shave for meetup!

See you guys soon!

Terry

It was great to see all the new faces and people seemed to be really getting into things.

Experienced DnDer here (thru 3.5, at least, with heavy Forgotten Realms leanings!), also prepped to run DC Heroes and, if there are any wrestling fans in the house, KayFabe! See you all there!

I apologize for the short notice, but I am not able to attend the meetup this month. I will be back on October!

Who attended?

  • 25 attendees
    •  Holy crap we were packed! Everyoen seemed to have fun though.
    •  Great sessions. It was great seeing all the new faces and old, and people liked the game so much thet left me their dice!
    •  A great crew of people, and good times to be had by all! Whether a new gamer or old, there's something for everyone!
    •  Great turnout. There were two games going on, and I really enjoyed Geoffrey's "So You Want To Be a Lizardman" game.
    •  People were cool. Having another DM or 2 to split up the groups to get more play time would have really helped. However, the DM at my table was really good and kept the pace going - which was tough with the varied experience levels and size of the group.
