Hey Everyone,

LOCATION CHANGE

Nothing is wrong with Prairie Moon but I was offered a new spot by the Uncommon Ground folks so I'm trying it.

The next meetup for the Chicago Area D&D meetup group will be at Uncommon Ground in Edgewater, There is plenty of parking and it's a few blocks away from the Loyola Red Line Station.

We have the space from Noon to 5PM.
Uncommon Ground is a little pricier than Prairie Moon but just a little. Please be prepared. I haven't gotten around to running games at White Castle yet and we are all grown ups here.

There are scheduled to be 3 sessions running and we can accommodate a good number of folks:

Brightbanner: Dying Earth meets Song of Fire and Ice is run by Terry

Note - Terry is perfectly well and expects no emergency room visits OR floods.

Monte Cook's City of Ptolus mega adventure is run by Betsy

Final Fantasy meets Full Metal Eberron run by Allen

Pirates of Greyhawk- not nice people doing not nice things - helmed by Geoffrey

Players - Bring dice and an open mind.
Bring characters too, if you like but we have pregens. The types of characters are mentioned on the group message boards.

Please try and remember that Prairie Moon is public place. They really like having us too so lets remember the rules:

1) Arrive as close to noon as possible (makes it easier for your DMs)
Some folks get there around 11:30 to order lunch

2) This time we'll have servers so get there and pick a spot and try and stay there. These guys don't know anyone but me really so lets not freak em out with our awesome musical chairs stunts.

3) Be considerate (I define considerate very broadly)
Imagine you're going to hear a talk by a great writer in a nice restaurant. Imagine that there may also be future employers present who love gamers. Imagine also that your mom is watching.

Show up with all of that in mind and you'll be fine and all die rolls will probably be 18 or better.

Everytime I shower I feel like I can roll critical hit at will on you guys! I'm may even shave for meetup!

I just spoke to one of the managers who was cool with setting up for like 4 groups of 6 so if we get enough folks, we could even have Tony's Deadlands game for a trial run. There could be other folks seated with us as well BUT that's a maybe. I'm thinking it's about the same sort of setup as at Prairie Moon.

See you guys soon!

Remember it's at:

You salty dogs got a new ship to name. Bad luck sailing on a ship without a name, it is.

    •  Uncommon Ground was OK, but I like Prairie Moon quite a bit better. The food at Uncommon Ground was good, however, it was a bit on the expensive side and the menu seemed somewhat limited. The restaurant also was initially very noisy. It took longer for us to get there, and had such a tiny parking lot that we had to park on the street.
    •  The waitstaff there were really cool, one played with us!
    •  Seemed like a good place after the morning crowd was gone.
