After Tax Day Euchre @ Aberdeen Tap

Hi all!  I am finally getting around to organizing again and playing my favorite card game.  I may be a little rusty but I still remember how to play albeit a little slower.

So if you have some money left after paying your taxes, join us and help me get my game face back!!

Come to Aberdeen Tap, one of my favorite venues - great food, incredible beer selection, lots of free street parking, and a nice back room all to ourselves. I'll be there around 6pm to grab some dinner. Game starts at 7pm.

Lisa

p.s.  Thanks to all the AOs who have been organizing games and supporting this meetup. I sincerely appreciate your efforts and support.

===================================

About Progressive Euchre:
* First, it is best that you have some prior experience playing euchre. While we always play for fun, we are slightly competitive just to keep it interesting. The winner gets a "prize". We will match you up with a partner.

* Second, the basic (Hoyle) rules of Euchre are applied. "Stick the dealer" is in; other variations (e.g. "ace-no-face," "farmer's hand" etc.) are out.

* Third, the standard format is slightly varied. We play progressive euchre -- each player is partnered up with a different player each round -- over the course of the night. Each round, everyone deals twice, then switches partners. Lather, rinse, repeat, until you have been paired with almost all of the players. At the end of the night, everybody adds up the number of points they've scored and the SINGLE PERSON with the most points wins. It goes pretty fast, so please stay until all rounds have been completed.

Standard RSVP Guidelines:
==Please RSVP even if your answer is no. This helps me keep track who are the active players.

==If you respond "Yes" please be on time so everyone can start playing at the 7pm game time. Please be advised that if you get there late, we may fill your spot with someone we find at the bar. Still, one would hope that won't happen and you would have called the organizer first.

==Put yourself on our Waitlist even if the meetup is filled . When/if a spot opens, the organizer can change your RSVP and move you to an open spot.

==DO NOT cancel last minute (i.e., same day or less than 24 hrs). It places an additional and stressful burden on the organizers (we are all volunteers) to find a sub. Not to mention, it may force the rest of the group to play with only three players which is not as much fun.

==DO NOT RSVP "yes" merely to save a spot. If you are even remotely uncertain whether you can make the game, do not RSVP "yes". It is unfair to members who can commit to the date and want to play. Place yourself on the waitlist instead. Patterns of repeated cancellations are being noticed.

Due to the growing popularity of this meetup, the needs of the organizers, and in the interest of fairness, individuals will be REMOVED from this group's membership list for failing to show up for a game, failing to provide advanced notice, and/or for patterns of cancellations, no-shows, and late appearances. I apologize for taking this hard-line approach but in order to make the game a pleasant experience for everyone -- organizer and players alike -- absences will not be tolerated.

    This is a great, albeit out of the way, place -- good food, awesomely nice waitstaff, and a back room. Lisa is always contagiously enthusiastic, so I love her meetups.
