About Progressive Euche:
==First, it is best that you have some prior experience playing euchre. While we always play for fun, we are slightly competitive just to keep it interesting. The Winner gets a "prize".
== Second, the basic (Coyle) rules of euchre are applied. "Stick the dealer is in"; other variations (e.g., ace-no-face) are out (for now). It's a very easy version once you start playing so don't fret.
==Third, the standard format is slightly varied. We play Progressive Euchre Style -- allowing each player to be partnered up with a different partner over the course of the night. Everyone deals twice, then switches partners. Lather, rinse, repeat, until you have been paired with almost all of the players. At the end of the night, everybody adds up the number of points they scored and the SINGLE PERSON with the most points wins. Rules can be found on the "Files" link of this meetup.
Please RSVP (even if your answer is no)! If you respond "Yes" then be there and on time.
==Due to the growing popularity of this meetup, we frown on last minute (including same day) cancellations. Because this style of play involves changing partners and everyone plays almost everyone at least once, we need you there. We can't start playing without you.
==Do not RSVP "Yes" even if you are remotely unsure whether you can make the game. Patterns of no-shows or regular cancellations are noticed.
==Finally, even if the meetup is filled but wish to play, RSVP "No" and write in the comment section that you'd like to play if space becomes available. I will move you should a space opens.
We welcome all Euchre fans but please know that because I personally pay a monthly fee for the use of the meetup.com website, I (as well as the Assistant Organizers who kindly volunteer their time and effort) reserve the right to make any (including last minute) changes and decisions.
Many of us have met for the first time through this meetup. Hence, new players are always welcomed.
Hope to see you soon!
