Montrose Beach

Located on the southeast corner of Montrose Beach next to the beach house, in front of the volleyball courts. Exit Montrose ave. off Lake Shore Drive, or take the bike path. We are on the beach, not in the Harbor next to blue and white beach house.

Do not miss, last Sunset Trip was AWESOME ! Everyone had great time, easy enough for beginners with instruction given , guides will take us out .

Anyone can learn to Kayak on this trip. You can bring your own kayak, but you will have to haul it in - :-) and must have life jacket and boat sticker.

We will start launch at 5:00 > NO LATE ARRIVALS after then allowed.

I'll be there for kayaking, be at the beach between 1-2.

As of 7/19 Lake Michigan's water temp is approximately 65 degrees - which is still pretty chilly. If you are kayaking there is a chance you will get a little wet so dress accordingly and bring something dry to change into for after.

I will be there at 4

Bummed to have to cancel...been sick for the past few days. Sunset kayaking sounded like fun!

Hello all- since this has been re-scheduled a few times due to weather etc. please make sure to update your RSVP if you are NOT going to be attending. It is not fair to Jeff who organizes such great outings and to the wonderful folks at Kayak Chicago to prepare for 120 people who say they are going and then only 30 show up.

    Hi Jeff,
    Two questions for you :)
    1) How is the parking situation in that area? I have never been there and I am wondering if I come around 3 PM will there be parking spaces still available in your opinion?
    2) What can we bring on the kayak? Can I bring my camelpak on the kayak? I am thinking I want to bring some water and a storage space for my keys and cellphone, but I am not sure if I can wear the camelpak on top of the life jacket. Last time I rented a Kayak was couple of years ago and I am a little rusty on planning. Pardon the silly question, but it's becoming a real planning issue haha
    Hope all is well!
    Thanks tons!

  • LizOmen

If I have my own kayak how much will it cost?

    May 31

    • Mr. J.

Nothing, but I do not recommend it , long way from parking lot to edge of water, and you must have SEA KAYAK, with all safety gear

      June 12

  • Pamela

Do they have tandem kayaks? For 2 peeps? If so. If like one if these. Thanks!

    June 6

  • Mr. J.

best get there early for decent parking for free, or better yet take your Bike in !
