This is an easy loop for all levels of fitness. You can jog it in one hour or find a chit-chat partner and take all day. I'll keep a pace to finish in 2:28. So you can either stay with me, move ahead, or lag behind. It's not easy to get lost. There are maps sometimes available at the start point. The terrain of the path is mostly level, some inclines, wide, and crushed limestone. Any type of reasonable footwear is okay. There are no water holes so bring enough. Come on out and get a workout. Bring a lunch and stop half-way and picnic if you want. There is no requirement to finish together as a group. We will all start though at 9am and follow the loop clockwise.
Because of county rules and regulations the number of people to participate is limited. Therefore this hike is limited to 20. It is important that you maintain your RSVP so no one will be left out of participating because of someone reserving a spot and not using it. So, I will take attendance and issue no shows if this happens .
NOTES: A map can be downloaded and printed at:
As you'll see that doing the route clockwise the mile markers will be counting down. So, at any point before mile marker 5 you can turn back if you are having problems or think you might not be able to do the entire loop. This is good. We will be on the red trail so be sure to familiarize yourself with the trail post markings, this will be up to you. I can not be with all of you to show you the way. I said it's not easy to get lost, but it is possible. Water is shown to be available at the trailhead and near mile marker 7. I would still suggest you bring and carry what you think you'll need.
