Hike Busse Woods

Let's check out the entire Red trail at Busse Woods !

The system is 7.7 miles that winds it way thru the entire park system. We will start at Mile Marker 0 and end at the same spot.

We will head towards Mile marker 1, GROVE 32 or to the right from our meeting point in parking lot near restrooms. Look for Jeff with Green Cabela Hat and register when you arrive

Approx total time would be  2 1/2 hours

Ideally we will take off on hike at 10 am and start the route. I suggest a lite backpack with water and some snacks, dress in layers.

Directly off 290, see map below to get to Mile Marker Zero at end of Beisner rd in park.

Here is link to map system, make sure you enter at Biesterfield Road to enter Beisner.

 Carpool if you can !

Everyone can walk at their own pace and we can gather again at the end.

Lou Malnatti Pizza afterwards for those that feel hungry !

Simply click on Map link to see all Highways and Roads surrounding the park from EVERY direction. You can also enter Busse Woods in your GPS under Parks and it will find it.

So I would be better off with gym shoes as opposed to hiking boots then? Just recently took up hiking, but have been told that concrete/asphalt are no good on the boots.

The entire 7.7 mile route is asphalt paved, 2 lane. The weather forecast is mostly sunny, high of 53 with a RealFeel (Human index) of 49 which makes for a perfect Fall walk! Looking forward to meeting this group on the last day of daylight savings time 2011!

Hey all. Quick question. With 119 possibly attending this walk, if a large number of us go for pizza afterwards, is there a larger alternate place to go if Lou's cannot accommodate the group? It's always good to have a back up. I'm not familiar with that area.

Hey all. I will be leaving from the midway airport area for people that may need a ride. I am definatly interested in going out afterwards with everyone just as a side note if time is a factor.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
